The Jazz Alliance
The Jazz Alliance is a 17-piece big-band established in 2005 by saxophonist Bill Atchley. This Raleigh, North Carolina based group performs classic and contemporary big band jazz. The band is the "jazz group in residence" at Meredith College in Raleigh. The Jazz Alliance is available for jazz concerts and other performances.

The Jazz Alliance will perform a public concert at 7:30 pm on March 8, 2009 in the Carswell Recital Hall in Meredith College, Raleigh, NC. The program includes Benny Carter's Kansas City Suite as well as the big band jazz music of Charles Mingus, Zoot Sims, Bill Holman and others. There is no admission charge for this performance.

Later in the spring of 2009, the Jazz Alliance will give a public concert featuring the big band music of Woody Herman. The date of this concert has done been set yet.
